Easy Masala Bhaat Recipe | Quick Masala Rice Recipe

Goda Masala

Ingredients


  • 1 Kg Coriander Seeds
  • 1/4 kg cumin seeds
  • 1/4 kg dry red chilies
  • 1/4g sesame seeds
  • 100g poppy seeds
  • 50g cumin seeds
  • 20g cinnamon
  • 20g cloves
  • 20g green cardamom
  • 20g nutmeg
  • 20g star anise
  • 20g cassia buds
  • 20g stone blossom
  • 20g bay leaves
  • 200g dry coconut

Method


  1. Roast all the completely dry ingredients separately, except poppy seeds, coriander seeds, sesame seeds & the dry red chilies in a little oil
  2. Cool all the ingredients & grind to a fine powder & mix well
  3. Cool once again & store in a airtight container

For Quick Masala Rice/Bhaat

Ingredients


  • 3 cups rice
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • A pinch of asafetida
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 medium onions finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon goda masala
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 medium potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 cup of fresh green peas
  • 1 cup of ivy gourd cut lengthwise
  • 1/4 cup grated fresh coconut
  • 1/4 cup finally chopped coriander
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Method:


  1. Soak the rice in water for an hour
  2. Heat oil and add the bay leaf, mustard seeds. Once the mustard seeds crackle include the cumin seeds. Asafetida and the curry leaves.
  3. Add the onion and fry till the onion transforms gold.
  4. Add the turmeric powder, ginger paste, the goda masala, garam masala, chili powder, potatoes, peas, ivy gourd salt, rice and sauté it for 2-3 minutes
  5. Include 6 cups of water and also cook till the rice and also the vegetables are done.
  6. Garnish with the coriander as well as coconut and offer it hot
